“Beyond The Pattern”

I am delighted that you are here!

I have been planning this blog in my head for a very long time and it has taken a lot of courage to finally commit to launching it. But here I am!!!

I think my main setback was getting stuck in the cycle of feeling that I needed to write what I thought people wanted to read, and then doubting that what I had written was actually worth reading!

It wasn’t until I decided to write straight from my heart that the words began to flow naturally and I felt that what I was writing was more authentic and real. By reflecting on and sharing my own journey I could suddenly see how my unique perspective could be of interest and value to others.

After all I am not the only Surface Pattern Designer out there navigating their way ahead - far from it! There are lots of us who have plunged into the creative abyss and are swimming enthusiastically to the surface, whilst also being pulled back and forth by the changing currents and unsure whether to reach out for an oxygen tank or cling onto a life raft!

So undoubtedly my thoughts can inspire, motivate and encourage others too. Well that’s the plan anyway!!

So let’s take look at what’s to come!

The first month will be focused on Creative Beginnings. Here is how the month will pan out…

Week 1: “Embarking on the Journey of Surface Pattern Design”

Week 2: “A mindful Approach to Creativity”

Week 3: “Avoiding the Rabbit Holes

Week 4 “Goal Setting and Milestones for a Successful Creative Journey”

I’ve always been creative and when I discovered surface pattern design it was like a whole new world opened up to me. The opportunities are limited merely by your own imagination. The directions in which you can take your design ideas are so vast that it is easy to shift between feeling fired up, inspired, enthusiastic and motivated, to suddenly feeling overwhelmed, confused and doubtful of your own success.

Through this blog I aim to keep you on track. To help you stay inspired and positive and steer clear of negative thinking as you embark on this exciting journey. The path ahead is brimming with possibilities, challenges and boundless inspiration and I would love to offer support and encouragement along the way.
